Lead, Media Relations

About the role

You will manage SMRT's reputation and ensure timely, accurate and consistent communication with the public. Your main duties include developing communication strategies, building relationships with media journalists and editors, and organising media briefings and press conferences. You will also draft media releases and statements, manage the media inbox, and respond to media queries. In addition, you will monitor online sentiments and media coverage, and provide insights to improve communication strategies. This role may require you to respond to incidents or emergencies on a 24/7 basis.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Mass Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or relevant discipline
• At least 8 years of experience in corporate communications, media relations, or public relations
• Experience in handling media relations, writing press releases, managing communications strategies and media events
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
• Strong organisational and interpersonal skills
