Lead / Senior Designer, Early Childhood System (MSF)

About the role

You will lead service design strategy for early childhood digital services, modernising how families, educators and professionals access them. You will guide and mentor a team of designers, set design standards across multiple digital products, and work with product managers, developers and policy teams on roadmaps and delivery. You will also track metrics for product performance and modernisation success, and may work directly on critical design deliverables. The role sits within a government digital transformation team and involves influencing stakeholders on user-centred design.

Requirements

• 10+ years designing and shipping digital solutions end-to-end
• 5+ years leading and growing design teams
• Experience in complex multi-stakeholder environments
• Mastery across design disciplines (research, service design, product design, prototyping, storytelling)
• Familiarity with APIs, system integrations, data-driven interfaces and permissions models
• Commitment to accessibility and inclusive design (WCAG)
