Perform microbiological testing on routine and non-routine samples according to SOPs and client requirements within holding times and turnaround times. Prepare culture media, reagents and laboratory supplies, and operate and maintain laboratory instruments. Ensure compliance with quality systems such as GLP, ISO 17025 and SINGLAS, perform internal QC, and support audits and proficiency tests. Maintain aseptic techniques, biosafety, laboratory cleanliness and inventory. Escalate issues to senior microbiologists or the lab manager and take on assigned tasks.
