About the role
This is a two-year contract role based at JTC Summit, supporting the design review and advisory process for building projects from master planning through to handover to the facilities management operations and maintenance team. You will act as a project advisor, working alongside customers, project managers, design consultants and contractors to embed technical, planning and design considerations from a functional, operational and maintenance angle. It suits someone with a built environment background who enjoys bridging design and facilities operations.
What you'll do
Manage the project process from design through to handover and takeover
Review and advise on project briefs, consultant scope, selection processes, user requirements and project formation
Assess planning, design and construction requirements from performance, functional, maintenance and operations perspectives
Conduct planning, design and construction reviews based on industry best practices for functionality, constructability, maintenance and operations
Review detailed design and construction proposals covering design for maintenance, DfMA, life cycle costing, maintenance strategy, design for safety, quality assurance and authority requirements
Carry out site inspections and reviews of assigned properties, equipment and estates to check compliance with quality, maintenance, operations, safety and environmental requirements set by JTC and other government authorities
Plan and prepare maintenance and operations strategy
Take part in testing and commissioning to ensure operational and maintenance intent is met
Manage the defects liability period with the project team
Manage the operations and maintenance process after project takeover
Advise on tenancy layouts, fit-outs and fitting-out works for landlord requirement compliance
Engage project stakeholders proactively to develop workable solutions balancing maintainability, cost and tenant operations
Drive discussions on facilities management operations to keep buildings running efficiently
Manage contracts with the FMC management team, variation processes and budget administration
Conduct regular reviews and updates of processes, and develop new processes, work forms, ISO documentation, SOPs and checklists to ensure continued efficiency and effectiveness in planning and design related to operations and maintenance
Document learning points and feed them into work processes, reviewing and improving processes throughout the project and operations lifecycle

Requirements
Background in Architecture, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management or a related built environment field
At least 2 years of working experience in design, maintenance, operations set-up and project management in building projects
Knowledge and capability in various planning and design typologies of the built environment, covering both core and shell and fitted-out projects
Familiarity with Design for Maintainability and Design for Sustainability is a bonus
Knowledge and experience in property operations and maintenance is an advantage
Good knowledge of architecture, building design, building systems, mechanical and electrical design, building construction, construction methodologies, quality and safety assurance programmes, maintainability and operations is highly preferred
