About the role

This faculty role sits within the architecture and sustainable design area at SUTD, where you will help shape the design curriculum and research direction. You will join an innovative teaching team and work with government bodies, funding agencies and industry partners. It suits someone with a design research background who enjoys both teaching and building collaborations.

What you'll do

Teach across undergraduate and postgraduate design programmes, from first-year students to PhD level
Lead, co-teach or act as sole instructor in multiple design courses
Develop and deliver student-centred courses using blended learning methods
Conduct research in ergonomic design and related design topics
Contribute to the university through service and outreach activities
Engage with industry on challenging research problems
Network with funding agencies and companies to secure research funding
Build and grow a well-connected research team
Contribute to multidisciplinary design teaching and convergent design research
Support adult and executive learning in design

Good to know

Based in Singapore

Requirements

Specialty in ergonomics or a related area, with a proven record of teaching and research in design
Proven experience working autonomously and in teams, multi-tasking between teaching and research
Appetite for improving the teaching and learning of design
Willingness to tackle complex design research problems across multiple application domains
Ability to interact face-to-face and virtually with students, peers and stakeholders
Drive to network with funding agencies and companies and secure research funding
