About the role

A 12-month contract role with an external agency payroll provider, joining a global banking team that builds and maintains financial platforms and applications. The team spans Singapore and Switzerland, so you'll work with colleagues across both locations. It suits an experienced backend developer who is comfortable taking ownership and working in an agile setup.

What you'll do

Work with cross-functional teams to design, develop and implement software solutions for financial products and services
Build and maintain backend services and APIs using Java, Spring and Spring Boot

Optimise server-side performance and ensure data integrity and security

Integrate financial systems and third-party services so data flows smoothly between them

Write clean, maintainable code and follow best practices such as code reviews, testing and CI/CD

Diagnose and resolve technical issues across the stack, supporting development and production environments

Gather requirements with product managers, designers and other stakeholders and turn them into technical specifications

Uphold standards on honesty, integrity, due care, fair dealing, conflict management and regulatory compliance

Requirements

Relevant higher education and professional background
Ideally at least 5 years of software development experience, including backend work
Strong hands-on Java programming skills
Core Java and related utilities such as collections, JSON, JDBC and Maven
Spring Framework including Spring Boot, JDBC templates, JPA, messaging and JMS
Good decision-making and problem-solving ability
