About the role

This role sits within the Payment team at OCBC Singapore, supporting critical payment applications such as SWIFT interbank transactions, remittances, high-value domestic payments and FAST/PayNow transfers. You will lead and manage the team's day-to-day IT operations, working closely with other IT departments and business stakeholders to meet agreed service levels. It suits an experienced technologist with a strong application support and site reliability background in banking or financial services.

What you'll do

Provide L2 support by understanding application architecture and how it interfaces with upstream and downstream systems.
Handle day-to-day IT operations and resolve production issues.
Analyse problems raised by users or flagged by monitoring systems.

Carry out impact analysis and propose workaround solutions.

Follow up with vendors until issues are permanently resolved.

Understand job dependencies, recover failed jobs and define and implement job automation.

Take part in and run regular DR simulations and live DR exercises to meet defined recovery time objectives.

Specify monitoring requirements and spot system abnormalities early to prevent incidents.

Conduct application capacity planning and performance tuning.

Review applications against technology security standards (TSSAC) and close out non-compliance items.

Identify fixes for security vulnerabilities found through VA/APT and follow up to closure.

Communicate with internal IT groups, business units, operations and external vendors.

Requirements

Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
At least 10 years of software development experience, preferably in banking or financial services
Strong skills in shell scripting, Java, PostgreSQL, SQL scripting, Kafka, Kubernetes/Docker, OpenShift, IBM MQ, Redis, Grafana and Kibana
Experience with Agile development methodologies and version control systems such as Git
Solid understanding of container platforms, DevOps methodologies and Site Reliability Engineering principles
Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams
