About the role

Julius Baer is hiring an Application Responsible to join the Software Engineering team within PTFL, working on Wealth Management systems. The role suits a highly experienced Java developer who can resolve complex legacy defects and influence engineering practices across the team.

What you'll do

Analyse and resolve highly complex legacy system defects using Java and enterprise technologies
Explain intricate technical issues clearly to non-technical stakeholders
Influence and uplift the engineering practices of existing developers
Build a strong technical reputation by helping solve problems others find difficult
Develop and deliver solutions using Java, EJB, Spring Boot, MySQL and IBM MQ
Translate business and system requirements into scalable, stable technical solutions

Ensure code, security and performance meet bank standards

Work with Wealth Management systems such as CRM, client onboarding, KYC, AML, Name Check, Documentum, Captiva, GMC and Liferay Portal

Analyse, design, code and implement complex custom-built applications

Collaborate with the team using Agile methods such as Scrum or Extreme Programming

Follow practices like Test-Driven Development and continuous integration

Investigate and resolve production issues to keep the production environment stable

Manage stakeholders including finance, business change engineers and project managers to drive IT delivery

Analyse requirements, estimate effort, plan timelines and manage progress

Build strong project teams and maintain clear communication on project status

Drive and review technical and architectural design, enforce guidelines and challenge the status quo

Uphold values and behaviours covering honesty, integrity, due care, fair dealing, conflict management, competence and compliance

Identify and manage risks and issues, driving stakeholders to deliver on time and to quality standards

Full-time role based in Singapore
Exposure to Wealth Management systems including CRM, client onboarding, KYC, AML, Name Check, Documentum, Captiva, GMC and Liferay Portal

Requirements

At least 10 years of development experience in Core Java and Java EE
At least 3 years in the financial domain
At least 2 years following Test-Driven Development
Core Java 8+ and JUnit
Strong computer science knowledge including algorithms, data structures and object-oriented design
Able to write acceptance tests
