About the role
This role sits within a 24/7 submarine cable system network operations centre, handling end-to-end operations in a mission-critical setting. You will work on co-owned cable systems to keep international network availability high, and the position suits engineers who can make sound operational calls independently while following strict governance and regulatory rules.
What you'll do
- Assess complex submarine cable system alarms to identify likely fault domains and service impact
- Carry out operational tasks through authorised Network Management Systems with write access, exercising judgement to avoid unintended service disruption
- Coordinate incident restoration with consortium members, Cable Landing Stations, equipment vendors and internal engineering teams
- Execute restoration actions and track service recovery until normal operations resume
