Associate Executive

What you'll do

• Answer queries by email and phone about laboratory services and results promptly
• Enter orders accurately into the laboratory information system (LIS)
• Transcribe gross examination of specimens into the LIS
• Perform SNOMED coding for each case
• Create addendum reports when requested by the pathologist
• Record dispatch of hardcopy reports when needed
• Record, sort and send outgoing mail to the mail room
• Retrieve and distribute incoming mail from the mail room
• Prepare and record specimens and slides sent to other locations for external testing
• Assist with contacting other institutions for loan slides and arranging courier services
• Assist with preparing reports and slides for multi-disciplinary tumour boards
• Ensure patients are charged correctly in the National Billing System (NBS) and make amendments
• Perform billing reconciliation and check for dropped charges
