Associate Medical Laboratory Technologist (Dept of Pathology_Histology)*

About the role

Perform routine histological tests in the Department of Pathology to support the treatment and diagnosis of diseases. Receive and process laboratory specimens, including assigning charge codes and rejecting unacceptable samples. Assist pathologists during specimen trimming and evaluation, and gross simple specimens according to guidelines. Carry out technical tasks such as processing, embedding, microtomy, staining, mounting, labelling, and frozen cryo-sectioning. Maintain equipment, reagents, and stains, and comply with laboratory safety and quality protocols. Support inventory management and record-keeping, and undergo training as required.

Requirements

• Diploma in Life Sciences/Biomedical Science or equivalent preferred
• Relevant experience in a Histology laboratory preferred
• Meticulous
• Initiative and able to work in a team
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to multitask and manage time effectively
