About the role
This role leads test automation design, development and innovation for core banking and satellite applications, managing a team of test automation engineers, SDETs and load and performance engineers. You will build automation frameworks and solutions using open source and conventional tools across on-prem and cloud platforms. It suits an experienced automation leader with a strong software engineering, CICD and cloud background who enjoys driving innovation and working with senior stakeholders.
What you'll do
Design test automation frameworks and solutions for cloud and on-prem platforms, covering UI, API automation, service virtualisation, CICD and test tool integration with JIRA and XRAY
Lead and manage test automation teams so automation initiatives and delivery align with business and technical goals

Work with project stakeholders in core banking and satellite application domains to gather automation and non-functional testing requirements and define goals and solutions
Drive automation teams to adopt the latest tech stacks and industry standard practices
Maintain automation and performance test repositories with seamless test execution and reporting integrated into deployment pipelines
Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement in test automation and performance testing
Review and track artefacts produced by automation teams
Define test strategy, automation approach, environment and test data management plans across applications for projects of all sizes
Collaborate with project, business and operations teams to achieve goals
Report status and proactively raise issues, risks and recommend optimal solutions
Manage stakeholders, working closely with senior IT and business stakeholders to drive test automation delivery, best practices and innovation
Work with IT risk to drive the risk culture within and across teams
Build strong project teams and maintain robust communication on project status throughout its life cycle
Demonstrate values and behaviours covering honesty, integrity, due care and diligence, fair dealing, management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, risk management and compliance with laws and regulations
Ensure risks and issues are identified and managed closely and drive stakeholders to deliver on time and to required quality standards

Requirements
Minimum 12-15+ years of experience driving test automation strategies and technical solutions
Private banking experience, including Temenos T24 core banking, preferred
Ability to provide technical solutions and adapt to the latest tech stacks and innovations
Expertise in Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban or SAFe
Experience in automation and driving automation strategy with Selenium, Playwright, STEP and other industry standard tools
Experience with test automation frameworks and tool stacks such as Cucumber, API test automation, Selenium and Playwright
