About the role

This role supports a team leader with accounting and invoicing work for trust structures managed by the Singapore trust company, plus preparation of external asset management retrocession fee statements for the private banking FIM desk. It sits within an international bank's finance and trust administration environment and would suit an experienced accountant who is comfortable with client accounting, reporting and regulatory filings. You may also be asked to train junior or new colleagues.

What you'll do

Provide financial information support for business decisions, keeping up with industry news and the group's business strategy
Help prepare external asset management retrocession fee statements for the private banking FIM desk and update management on status

Support the private banking team on assigned projects

Bookkeep accounts and prepare financial statements for trust structures and companies managed by the trust company

Peer review financial statements for less complex structures

Liaise with external auditors and tax agents on financial statements where audit and tax returns are required

Help issue trust company fee invoices when fees fall due

Prepare internal reporting such as relationship manager scorecards, equity aggregation reports and investment review data extraction, plus external reporting on trusts and companies managed

Prepare data for annual MAS and CRS/FATCA filings and ad-hoc regulator surveys

Keep up to date with regulatory and GAAP changes affecting financial statements

Take part in annual user acceptance testing for system migrations and ad-hoc projects

Apply a controls-focused approach to daily operations, spotting key issues and proposing ways to address them

Follow the group's values and code of conduct, and identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters

You will work with trust administration teams, country finance, private banking front office and wealth planner teams, IT and change management teams, and other internal and external stakeholders

Requirements

Recognised accountancy qualification such as ACCA, AAT or CPA
At least 5 years of experience in finance and client accounting roles
Prior experience in trust companies or banks is an advantage
Membership of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners, if applicable
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
