About the role
NTUC Health runs a nursing home in Chai Chee and is looking for a Centre Director to take overall charge of the home. You will lead the planning and delivery of activities there, keep everything aligned with regulations and internal policies, and drive improvement and technology projects that make the resident journey smoother. This suits an experienced healthcare leader who enjoys managing operations, developing people and working with many stakeholders.
What you'll do
Build and maintain relationships with referring physicians, hospitals, nursing and rehabilitation facilities, assisted living facilities, residents, families and other referral sources
Run the day-to-day operations of the home, covering accounts receivable and payable, reimbursement, billing, intake, care delivery, utilisation, data quality, order tracking, records, admissions and discharges

Make sure services follow policies, service standards and applicable laws, and handle audits, satisfaction surveys and business continuity plans
Ensure clinical and business processes meet statutory requirements and standards
Keep written job descriptions for all staff categories endorsed by management and accessible
Lead and coach staff, and attract and retain qualified healthcare staff to keep staffing at the right level
Direct staff development and competency upgrading, in-house training and new nursing techniques or procedures
Implement continuous quality improvement activities with the Operations Manager and clinical and support staff
Direct and take part in data collection and root cause analysis to find improvement opportunities
Analyse trends and the changing needs of residents in institutional settings
Raise service standards and strengthen community engagement outreach
Work with the Director of Finance on the home's operating and capital budget, covering revenue, expenses and projected capital expenditure for the next fiscal year
Prepare budget-to-actual financial statements for management and interim budgets when the Management Committee needs them
Maintain and grow the home's profitability by managing expenses, increasing revenue and securing reimbursement under contracts or as appropriate
Provide accurate information for cost reports required by law or for certification, registration or accreditation
Ensure nursing home operations hit Balanced Scorecard targets and oversee the scorecard and supporting information
Report the required information to the Management Committee or Governing Body

Requirements
Bachelor's degree
At least 3 years of leadership experience in healthcare
Familiarity with the ILTC sector and community resources is an advantage
Strong written and verbal communication, able to engage and manage stakeholders
Strong analytical and strategic planning skills
Strong people developer
