About the role
This role sits within a multidisciplinary healthcare setting in Singapore, delivering psychological services to patients with moderate to complex needs. It combines direct clinical work with education, research and leadership duties, and suits an experienced psychologist who can work autonomously while guiding junior colleagues.
What you'll do
Provide individual and group psychotherapy to inpatients and outpatients, using approaches such as cognitive-behaviour therapy, stress management and mindfulness
Carry out psychometric assessments including IQ, neuropsychological and dementia testing, with advanced interpretation and clinical recommendations
Handle routine medico-legal and forensic cases with proper documentation and expert opinion
Maintain consistent clinical and service delivery standards for complex cases
Take an active part in team or department clinical practice improvement and quality improvement projects
Ensure safe and effective care and maintain clinical competency outcomes
Contribute to care effectiveness through thorough documentation and outcome monitoring
Support the hospital's peer support programme for staff and corporate clients, and deliver talks and workshops on stress management and mental health
Assist in supervising junior psychologists and provide clinical guidance and professional development support
Coach, supervise or train new and existing staff (JG12 and below) and AHP students as clinical educator or mentor
Conduct health profession education and training for colleagues within and across departments
Speak at local conferences, seminars or scientific meetings by invitation or nomination
Plan and organise education activities such as department CE, HPE training and patient education events
Critically evaluate research and innovation, and translate findings into practice at department level
Use literature to modify or develop evidence-based practice and guidelines
Assist in designing and implementing research or innovation projects, including literature review, study protocol, grant writing, data collection and analysis, and manuscript preparation
Present research or innovation at local conferences
Manage services and resources to meet department and institution strategic goals and outcome targets
Plan, develop, review, improve and implement services, programmes or projects to meet department priorities and population health needs
Co-lead inter-professional and inter-department workgroups or teams to deliver, improve or transform services and care
Engage inter-professions and stakeholders in decision making and provide feedback
Engage support staff to manage and coach performance and professional development
Contribute to hospital clinical services and relevant hospital programmes
Participate in research with other specialists to advance psychological practice
Conduct talks and lectures in psychology or related subjects to mental health professionals and psychology
Requirements
Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from a recognised institution
At least 3-4 years of relevant clinical psychology experience in a healthcare setting
Demonstrated competency in psychological assessment and therapeutic interventions
Preferably registered, licensed or holding a practising certificate with a recognised psychological body such as APA, APS or BPS, or eligible for one
Commitment to maintaining continuing professional development requirements
Advanced clinical assessment and therapeutic intervention skills at Band 3B level
