Deputy Director, Engineering Management (TechOps), TradeNet

About the role

Lead and grow a multi-disciplinary TechOps team covering DevOps, Quality Engineering, Database Engineering, Security Operations, Production Support, and Observability. Define team structures, roles, career ladders, and interfaces with product squads and architecture. Own engineering platforms such as CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, quality gates, security scanning, observability, and database services. Establish production support operations, on-call processes, and incident management. Drive engineering standards and AI-assisted development workflows across the organisation.

Requirements

• At least 12 years of experience in technology
• 6+ years in engineering leadership managing platform, infrastructure, or operations teams at scale
• Demonstrated experience building and leading a support organisation (hiring, defining L1/L2/L3 tiers, setting quality standards, managing escalations, coaching engineers)
• Proven track record in FinOps and cloud cost optimisation at scale
• Experience with data platforms and cloud infrastructure (data lake architecture, large-scale cloud migrations, or database engineering)
• Track record managing multiple engineering disciplines simultaneously
