About the role
This role leads a global team managing Visa's compute infrastructure, with a local engineering team based in Singapore. It sits within the Infrastructure Reliability Engineering – Compute Services group, which architects, engineers and operates compute systems worldwide. The position suits an experienced technical leader who can handle a fast-paced, diverse environment and drive improvements using the ITIL framework.
What you'll do
Manage service availability, reliability and supportability initiatives to improve performance and uptime.
Oversee a heterogeneous infrastructure environment with hardware from HP, Dell and IBM and software including Linux, AIX, CentOS and Windows OS.

Prioritize and manage high-volume workloads from multiple sources while meeting strict SLAs.
Drive bottom-up improvements for compute operations, including Level-1 and Level-2 incident management, change management and problem management.
Engage with customers and partners to represent operational concerns and needs.
Mentor technical staff and run programs to improve overall effectiveness and efficiency.
Establish best-practice methodologies for problem resolution in a global, 24x7, high-volume, high-availability production environment, based on metrics-based KPIs.
Lead innovation and development of compute operations processes and tools from concept to delivery, focusing on new technologies such as virtualization, SDN and big data analytics.
Provide leadership for project and technology upgrade demands, including recommendations for vendor tools and solutions and global alignment of compute operations.
Mentor, manage and motivate a high-performing team of senior professionals, setting clear priorities to achieve department goals and KPIs.
Support adoption of new technologies and tools, recommend capability improvements to compute engineering and assist in lab POC.
Drive coordination, consensus and execution to mitigate cyber security risks and emerging threats.
Govern the security remediation process, including vulnerability assessment and patch management, for compute infrastructure.
Assist in developing a strategic roadmap to meet service level targets and compute operations goals.
Work closely with compute functions (tools, engineering and architecture) and other cross-functional teams to drive efficiency and improvement.
Ensure compute operations follow governing standards and comply with audit and regulatory requirements.
Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity activities as needed.
Establish standards and governance for future acquisitions to mitigate risk and maximize stability.

Requirements
10 years of work experience with a bachelor's degree, or at least 8 years with an advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD), or at least 3 years with a PhD
Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, computer science or a related field
10+ years' experience in technology, information security and/or compute administration, with 6+ years in a management role
Experience managing a heterogeneous infrastructure environment with hardware from HP, Dell and IBM and software including Linux, AIX and CentOS
Experience managing enterprise virtualization technologies including VMware, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift and Hyper-V
Current or held advanced compute technical certification (e.g. VCP, RHCSA/AWS/CKA/GCP or relevant industry certification)
