About the role

You will act as the Manager on Duty at Hotel Stripes Singapore Chinatown Autograph Collection, overseeing daily property operations and stepping in to resolve guest situations. This role represents management on the floor, manages lobby flow and guest questions, and tracks service issues as Guest Relations Manager. It suits someone with guest services or front desk experience who can lead a team and keep service standards high.

Lead, influence and encourage guest services teams, modelling honesty and integrity
Build trust, respect and cooperation among team members
Supervise and manage employees and all day-to-day operations
Cover employee duties when they are absent
Recognise team contributions and celebrate successes
Maintain open, collaborative relationships with employees
Set goals and plans to prioritise, organise and complete work
Handle complaints, settle disputes and resolve grievances or conflicts
Work closely with all departments to support operations and resolve problems
Step into guest or employee situations to protect the property, guest satisfaction and employee wellbeing
Keep regular communication with employees about business objectives and expectations
Read budgets, operating statements and payroll progress reports to support financial management
Deliver service beyond expectations to keep customers satisfied and loyal
Coach individuals on guest needs and service improvement
Manage daily operations to meet quality, standards and customer expectations
Display strong hospitality skills and set a positive example for guest relations
Respond to and resolve guest problems and complaints
Empower employees to deliver excellent customer service
Observe service behaviours and give feedback to individuals
Work to improve service performance
Assist guests immediately when requested
Ensure employees understand customer service expectations
Help develop and implement corrective action plans to improve guest satisfaction
Implement the customer recognition and service programme
Administer property policies fairly and consistently, completing disciplinary procedures and documentation per SOPs and LSOPS
Manage payroll administration
Identify developmental needs and coach, mentor or help others improve
Give guidance and direction to subordinates, setting and monitoring performance standards
Take part in progressive discipline procedures
Use on-the-job training tools for employees
Seek employee feedback, use an open door policy and review satisfaction results
Supervise ongoing training initiatives and conduct training when needed
Take part in performance appraisals and provide feedback
Share information with supervisors, co-workers and subordinates by phone, writing, email or in person
Analyse information and evaluate results to choose the best solution
Update executives, peers and subordinates on relevant information promptly
