About the role
This role sits with the SSD Validation (Test Development) team at Micron, focused on data center SSD products. You will build and maintain performance and power validation test cases, turning product, customer and industry requirements into scalable automated test methodologies. It suits an engineer who enjoys test automation, Python development and working closely with firmware, architecture and infrastructure teams.
What you'll do
Design, develop, maintain and optimise performance and power validation test cases for data center SSDs
Work with Performance Validation Leads to understand program-specific validation requirements and priorities
Review performance and power requirements from specifications, customer needs, PCIe/NVMe standards and past lessons

Translate requirements into automated performance and power validation test cases and solutions
Run sanity validation before releasing test solutions for deployment
Own, develop and maintain performance validation test plans, methodologies, processes and best practices across SSD programs
Identify validation gaps and define test coverage so performance and power requirements are fully validated
Drive improvements in test efficiency, execution scalability, automation coverage, data collection and reporting
Collaborate with Firmware, System Architecture, Infrastructure and Customer Performance teams to clarify requirements and improve test solutions
Ensure test development aligns with firmware feature enablement schedules and program milestones
Track and communicate test readiness, coverage status and risks to stakeholders
Support Git-based development workflows, branch management, automated build systems and continuous integration pipelines
Take part in test design and code reviews to keep validation solutions high quality, scalable and maintainable
Maintain code quality, documentation standards and reusable software components
Follow iterative development practices for rapid delivery of validation solutions
Integrate AI-assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve productivity, quality and effectiveness within organisational and legal standards
Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying, testing and sharing AI-enabled enhancements within your scope of work

Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
Strong problem-solving, analytical and debugging skills
Strong proficiency in Python and experience building automated test solutions, frameworks or validation tools
Experience in SSD validation test development covering design, implementation, automation and qualification of test cases for performance, power or firmware feature validation
Strong understanding of SSD architecture, performance and power characteristics such as latency, bandwidth, IOPS, QoS and power metrics
Familiarity with PCIe and NVMe storage interface protocols
