Engineering Manager, National Environment Agency (NEA)

About the role

Lead the technical direction and processes for one or more engineering teams, and drive the design, implementation and delivery of products owned by your team. Define the team's engineering vision, strategy and roadmap in line with organisational goals. Work with engineers on performance, professional growth, mentoring and feedback, and partner with stakeholders to prioritise and manage product roadmaps. Establish practices and tools to build a strong engineering culture, and support recruitment for senior hires.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of software development experience
• At least 2 years of experience coaching or mentoring developers
• Hands-on experience across the technology stack, including infrastructure, front end, back end, performance and data
• Experience building end-to-end systems with user interfaces, APIs, back-end systems and databases
• Experience with Agile, modular design, software automation, continuous delivery, TDD, continuous integration and pair programming
• Experience with modern full-stack web technologies such as Next.js/React.js and Java/TypeScript
