Promote the hotel's services and facilities to guests and suppliers.
Work safely and help keep others safe in the workplace.
Know the food and beverage menus well and explain dishes to guests.
Understand dietary needs and suggest suitable options.
Agree and carry out service improvements with the Manager.
Complete product knowledge checklists and test team members' knowledge each shift.
Recommend menu items for guests of different nationalities and suggest other outlets.
Know opening hours of all restaurants and outlets, and recommend outside restaurants and city attractions.
Set up the restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner, including the cashier desk, and liaise with Chefs on shift details and reservation numbers.
Check daily reservations, ensure tables are ready and confirm large bookings by phone.
Support bartenders and kitchen team members, and carry out reasonable requests from the Manager.
Brief team members on the shift ahead and complete the pre-service checklist.
Greet guests, offer help and introduce yourself, following up on queries promptly.
Ensure service procedures meet required standards and all areas are clean and maintained.
Manage the daily roster against business levels and adjust to meet service standards and budget goals.
Control labour for each shift to meet guest expectations while hitting labour cost targets.
Help restaurant managers with induction and on-the-job training.
Give team members constructive feedback after each shift to build their skills and confidence.
Lead and direct team members on duty, setting a professional example.
Review the shift and carry out handovers and briefings.
