About the role

Join OCBC's Global Markets Equities business as an FX Operations Officer, processing foreign exchange transactions that arise from clients' equity trades when currency conversion is needed to settle in foreign markets. You'll work closely with traders, other operations teams and technology partners in a fast-paced setting where accuracy and efficiency matter. This role suits someone detail-oriented who wants to build a foundation in financial markets operations at a leading Asian bank.

What you'll do

Check that FX trades done for Equities clients match FX team records
Aggregate FX amounts for hedging and make sure brokers' accounts are pre-funded

Prepare fund transfer instructions and confirm banks execute transfers correctly at day-end

Post journal entries to keep account records in the accounting system

Monitor foreign currency accounts to keep minimum balances and stay within counterparty agreements

Upload daily house FX rates into internal systems accurately and on time

Help the Cash Management team verify fund placement confirmations with counterparties

Carry out daily and month-end reconciliations of placements against bank statements

Validate banking charges and post the related journal entries

Prepare and submit regulatory reports on foreign currency exposures

Conduct RCSA, CSA and other periodic reviews under Group policies

Answer ad-hoc queries from trading representatives promptly and accurately

Use automation, data analytics and digital tools to improve efficiency, accuracy, controls and insights

Take on other Finance Operations duties as assigned, including operational, control, reporting or process improvement work

Requirements

Degree in business, accounting, economics or sciences
At least 1-2 years' experience in treasury, cash management or settlement
Back or middle office experience in financial institutions also considered
Basic understanding of equities, FX and futures products
Team player who is detail oriented and can manage deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills
