What you'll do

• Support the Duty Manager in growing hotel revenue using company systems, procedures and business processes
• Process guest check-outs and billing in a friendly, efficient and hassle-free way
• Promote a one-team approach and dependable service through daily communication and coordination with all team members
• Take part in programmes that improve team member engagement and reflect the brand's service behaviours
• Plan and assign work and set performance and development goals as directed by the Duty Manager to keep yourself and the team productive
• Follow federal, state and local laws and safety regulations
• Greet guests, register them, confirm their particulars and payment details, and issue keys on check-in
• Print and confirm payment and bill details for guests checking out
• Answer guest enquiries in a practical and simple way that follows brand standards
• Handle guest complaints appropriately according to brand standards
• Manage cashiering, payments and foreign currency exchange accurately
• Deal reliably with special needs and requests from guests and repeat visitors
• Maintain compliance with brand standards, behaviours, hallmarks and licence agreement requirements
• Retrieve and print the Arrival/Departure Report, Backup Report and Trace Report from Oasis PMS for daily room allocation
• Enter and update reservations accurately
• Handle telephone enquiries efficiently and effectively
• Work self-sufficiently in line with business needs
• Take food and beverage orders and clear tables in the Great Room
• Refresh food and beverage items in the Great Room
• Set up the meeting room and make tea and coffee
• Keep guest areas organised and pick up debris in public areas
• Keep up to date with local knowledge to improve the guest experience
• Handle IHG Rewards Club enrolments and recognition
• Carry out finance and admin tasks such as petty cash processing, purchasing and billing
• Follow occupational health and safety policies and procedures and work safely within the guidelines
• Be aware of duty of care and comply with occupational health and safety legislation, policies and procedures
• Know the property's safety, first aid, and fire and emergency procedures and use equipment safely
• Take action to correct hazardous situations and tell supervisors about potential dangers
• Support the hotel's corporate responsibility initiatives in community involvement, environment management, workplace health and safety, and food safety, and drive action plans to meet objectives
