About the role
This senior role leads the Professional Practice and Governance team within Group Audit at a long-established Singapore bank. The team sets audit methodology, governance and quality standards across the banking group, and the position suits an experienced audit professional who can influence stakeholders and drive change.
What you'll do
Translate the division's strategy, innovation priorities and business objectives into governance, methodology, reporting and operating practices
Set strategies so the team adopts leading internal audit practices
Develop and maintain the Internal Audit Charter defining the purpose, authority and responsibility of the audit function
Align the audit function's stature, organisation, strategy and resources with the group's objectives and governance
Lead, motivate and manage the department so staff have the right knowledge, skills and experience
Set measurable key performance indicators for audit teams
Develop guest auditor programmes to build risk awareness and bring business perspectives into auditing
Model the bank's desired behaviours and champion a prudent risk and compliance culture
Cultivate an environment where staff learn, grow and live the core values
Develop and maintain audit methodology, standards and practices, benchmarking against leading practice
Run a quality assurance and improvement programme against IIA International Standards and address gaps
Own the methodology framework, standards, practice guides and related documents
Partner with audit, analytics and strategy teams on practice guides, auditing approaches, writing guidance, clinics and digital solutions
Act as process owner for methodology-related digital, automation and AI initiatives
Act as process owner for the audit management platform, covering requirements, data quality, workflow, adoption and enhancements
Oversee training programmes, methodology briefings, audit clinics and knowledge-sharing sessions
Formulate an annual risk-based audit plan covering key and emerging risks
Monitor audit plan execution within budget and report status and results
Adjust the audit plan for emerging risks, regulatory developments or strategy shifts
Report significant governance, risk and internal control issues periodically through to resolution
Provide at least an annual report on the state of internal controls
