Work with the Housekeeping Manager to keep department costs and expenses within budget
Run morning reports such as room status, VIP, out-of-order, arrivals and housekeeper reports
Prepare daily room assignments for morning shift room attendants
Check message books for special requests or instructions
Supervise housekeeping standards and procedures for bedroom service, bathroom service, cleaning service and linen maintenance
Recommend changes to standards and identify ongoing training needs
Handle employee grievances and ensure consistency within the department
Work with your superior and HR on manpower planning and management
Open and close shifts and ensure effective handover
Distribute and collect master keys, and issue keys according to floor assignments
Manage incoming and outgoing calls, answer the phone and log messages
Respond to guest requests and inform supervisors of special guest needs
Coordinate make-up or rush rooms with the Front Desk
Prepare and monitor room status reports for discrepancies
Pass messages from guests to housekeeping, laundry, F&B room service, front office and engineering
Keep thorough knowledge of all housekeeping systems
Prioritise arrival rooms and liaise with Front Office on guest and hotel requirements
Ensure guest valet is processed and delivered on time
Coordinate special projects such as site rooms, vermin control, window and carpet cleaning, and room inventories
Manage lost property for the hotel and handle all special guest requests
Know room types, layouts and facilities
Perform room audits and ensure monthly IHG Way of Clean audits are done and targets achieved
Release rooms and manage room status
Raise work orders for Engineering to follow up on maintenance jobs
Inform the Assistant Manager or security of any emergencies reported to Housekeeping
Manage the room attendant audit portal
Follow up on guest requests by coordinating with Engineering and Housekeeping
Manage storage areas and maintain adequate stock levels
Complete stock takes as required
Conduct shift briefings so hotel activities and operational requirements are known
Record and manage all lost and found items and coordinate their return
Prepare the next day's schedule based on house count and call in extra personnel when needed
Cover for relief floor supervisor, training supervisor and housekeeping clerk when they are off or on leave
Check that all keys are in their respective places
