About the role
Join the Digital Library Services team at Singapore's first institute for lifelong learning, supporting the learning, teaching and research needs of the university community. This role sits within a lean, collaborative team and suits an experienced library professional with a background in acquisitions and electronic resource management.
What you'll do
Source, evaluate and select library resources such as books, serials, audio-visual materials and databases for purchase, subscription or licensing
Catalogue and physically process library resources
Carry out collection development and maintenance, including disposal and replacement of resources

Promote library resources to raise awareness and usage
Work with publishers, vendors, aggregators and other stakeholders to configure platform settings for resource access
Act as administrator for content platforms, and analyse, monitor and review resource usage
Manage the institutional repository and promote its use through regular outreach
Review repository submissions and enhance metadata to improve discoverability
Develop guidelines, procedures and FAQs for the repository to support operational efficiency and compliance
Run workshops or training sessions on depositing and managing works
Advise users on Open Access publishing, publisher embargo policies and copyright
Work with a vendor to maintain and upkeep the repository
Monitor and report on repository usage
Identify and evaluate emerging trends in academic libraries and higher education, especially acquisitions, electronic resources lifecycle management and resource sharing, and recommend best practices
Create and maintain content such as subject guides and other web content for faculty and student research
Supervise team members and develop staff training plans
Pursue continuous professional development and represent the library and university on internal and external committees
Provide research assistance and other onsite and online library services and operations
Handle other departmental or organisational duties as assigned

Requirements
Postgraduate qualification in library science or information management
Recognised degree
3–5 years of experience in acquisitions, serials and electronic resource management, plus library services such as research support and outreach, preferably in an academic library
Proficient with library management systems (e.g. Alma), finance systems, electronic resource management systems, linking and authentication
Familiarity with managing an institutional repository
Strong analytical, organisational, project management and critical thinking skills
