About the role

This role sits within a team working to reshape the motoring experience, with a focus on making transactions smooth and touchpoints well designed. You will help reinvent the One Motoring platform, adding capabilities such as real-time billing, personalised dashboards and intuitive user flows. It suits someone with deep digital payments experience who enjoys building reliable payment systems and working across technical and business teams.

What you'll do

Set the technical direction for how payments are captured, authorised, cleared and settled, bringing fragmented flows onto one dependable foundation.

Define how systems connect, including interfacing and system flow specifications, and weigh trade-offs in integration decisions to produce robust, scalable designs.

Work with payment agents and processors to integrate payment rails, negotiate rates and ensure broad acceptance of popular digital payment methods.

Design settlement and reconciliation flows across providers, acquirers and banks so all transactions are properly accounted for.

Build payment-grade controls into every design and adhere to standards such as PCI DSS, MAS TRM, IM8 and OWASP ASVS.

Act as a link between vendors, engineers and leadership so payment technology work stays focused on delighting users.

Requirements

8+ years of hands-on experience in digital payments, including building or operating payment systems
Deep understanding of authorisation, clearing, settlement and in-house finance reconciliation
Strong technical skills in system architecture and solutioning
Able to design a system from scratch, draw system sequence diagrams and prepare interface control documents
Able to explain and debate technical choices
Knowledge of schemes, providers and interchanges, and how acquirers, processors and banks work together
