About the role
This role leads the project management and development of a new flagship campus, ensuring it meets long-term institutional goals through smart and sustainable design. You will work with multi-disciplinary consultants and site supervisory staff, and represent the university with government agencies. It suits an experienced engineering or sustainability professional who can drive large-scale development projects.
What you'll do
Manage sustainability and M&E engineering works, including feasibility studies, budget planning, funding approval, project scheduling, and tender procurement.
Propose conceptual designs and evaluate and value-add to sustainability solutions from consultants.
Manage smart technology solutions and integrated security systems, including feasibility studies, budget planning, funding approval, project scheduling, and tender procurement.
Propose conceptual designs and evaluate and value-add to smart technology and integrated security system proposals from consultants.
Review M&E consultant design proposals, tender specifications, and drawings for code compliance, performance, and value for money.
Drive integration of sustainability and smart technologies to achieve BCA Green Mark Platinum SLE award.
Manage setup of an Intelligent Building Management System for seamless functionality, productivity, and energy efficiency.
Provide technical advice and engineering solutions to management and stakeholders on construction issues.
Represent the university in meetings on green buildings and campus development.
Guide and oversee junior team members on smart building systems, M&E planning, and tender processes.
Manage external/outsourced resources to complete projects on time.
Attend site progress meetings and monitor progress to keep the project on track and within budget.
Carry out site inspections to ensure quality and workmanship of sustainability, smart building, security, and M&E works.
Act as representative with government agencies such as BCA, SCDF, and PUB, and lead consultants to meet regulations and university needs.
Undertake other tasks as required by management.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree and/or relevant Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
At least 15 years of relevant working experience in Sustainability and/or Smart Technologies Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related areas
Experience in planning, design, and implementation of sustainability and smart building solutions and engineering works for large-scale development projects
Certified Green Mark Accredited Professional with experience attaining BCA Green Mark Platinum and/or Super Low Energy certification is an advantage
Working experience and knowledge of government policies, functions, and requirements of key agencies and regulatory framework for development projects is an advantage
Strong people management, writing, communication, and presentation skills
