About the role

ATOM is a laboratory within the Department of Anatomical Pathology at Singapore General Hospital, carrying out clinical profiling of cancers on next generation sequencing platforms and conventional PCR-based molecular assays. The role also supports translational research with external partners, covering both neoplastic and non-neoplastic diseases. It suits a life sciences or molecular biology graduate who is organised, adaptable and comfortable multitasking to tight deadlines.

What you'll do

Perform analysis and specialised investigations
Analyse sequencing data
Establish, implement and monitor quality control programmes
Prepare reagents and laboratory materials on time

Help develop and validate research assays for translation into clinical use

Support operation and maintenance of equipment used for specialised tests

Contribute to collaborative research projects through active participation and literature searches

Keep good records of experimental data, charts and tables

Take part in training other technologists

On-the-job training will be provided
Candidates with more experience in relevant areas may be considered for a senior position

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Biology, Molecular Biology, Immunology or a related discipline
Preferably 1 to 2 years' experience in a diagnostic or research laboratory setting
Knowledge of molecular assays or techniques is an added advantage
Highly adaptable team player able to multitask and deliver quality work under tight timelines
Team player and independent learner
Responsible, dependable, well-organised and attentive to detail
