About the role

This role is based at a hotel bar in Singapore, where you will prepare and serve drinks while looking after guests throughout their visit. You will work as part of the bar and floor team, and it suits someone who enjoys busy service, takes pride in presentation, and is comfortable talking to guests about what they are drinking.

What you'll do

Make and garnish classic cocktails, and serve beer, wine and non-alcoholic drinks following set recipes and portion sizes
Describe the drinks on offer, suggest options that suit guests, and advise on pairings and other venues in the hotel

Welcome guests as they arrive, serve them promptly and attentively, and handle their questions

Set up the bar each day and keep beers, spirits, garnishes, fresh juices and other supplies stocked

Check perishable items closely to maintain quality

Key in orders on the POS system, take cash and card payments, run checks, and complete end-of-shift cashier balance drops securely

Keep the bar area clean and hygienic, follow food safety rules, and comply with responsible alcohol service and liquor laws

Promote premium drinks, signature cocktails and hotel dining promotions to increase average guest spend

Recommend other hotel outlets, amenities and nearby attractions to improve the guest stay and build loyalty

Assist floor colleagues, coordinate with supervisors during busy periods, and take part in ongoing team learning

Good English for work purposes
Motivated and committed, with enthusiasm for all tasks and willingness to learn
Flexible and able to respond positively to changing requirements and tasks
Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and serving various alcohol
Able to remember, recite and promote menu items
Open-minded and outgoing personality
