About the role

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform serving businesses of all sizes, and this role sits within its Global Partnerships function covering Southeast Asia. You would act as the senior in-market partnerships representative for the region, working closely with product, engineering, legal, risk, compliance, finance and go-to-market teams. It suits an experienced partnerships or business development professional who is comfortable owning strategy and complex negotiations in the payments and fintech space.

What you'll do

Take end-to-end ownership of the regional partnership portfolio for Southeast Asia expansion.
Define and carry out regional strategy covering local payment methods, financial partners, card networks, banks and expansion partners.
Lead senior external relationships in the region and represent Stripe's strategic priorities to partners.

Manage partnership opportunities across market assessment, strategy, negotiation, contracting, onboarding, launch, governance and performance management.

Drive regional expansion-partnership strategy and coordinate the partnerships needed to establish, operate and scale in-market.

Turn market intelligence, partner priorities and ecosystem developments into recommendations for product and business strategy.

Guide cross-functional decisions on commercial, product, operational, regulatory and technical dependencies.

Set up and track partner-performance metrics covering commercial outcomes, product adoption, operational health and strategic progress.

Anticipate and handle partnership risks, escalations and trade-offs while keeping internal and external executives aligned.

Requirements

10+ years in partnerships, business development, corporate development, strategy, financial services or a related field
Substantial experience in payments, fintech, e-commerce, banking, card networks, local payment methods or adjacent financial services
Track record leading complex strategic commercial negotiations with senior external stakeholders
Strong knowledge of the payments and financial-partnership landscape in Southeast Asia, including market dynamics and business models
Excellent written, verbal and English executive communication skills
Able to form a clear point of view amid ambiguity, influence without authority and drive decisions across complex stakeholder groups
