About the role

You will join the Operation Control Centre team, working alongside the Chief Controller to keep the electrical power and environmental control systems running safely across the rail network. This role suits someone with an electrical engineering background who stays calm under pressure and is comfortable working rotating shifts. You will be deployed to either the North-South & East-West Line or the Circle Line.

What you'll do

Work closely with the Chief Controller and follow all safety requirements for traction on/off operations.
Apply Permit-to-Work procedures and handle switching communication with front-line maintenance staff for safe switching, isolation and re-energization during preventive maintenance.
Follow safety requirements and work instructions under SMRT LEW instruction or supervision for all 22kV remote switching.

Support power and ECS engineering activities at night and prepare for train revenue services in the morning.

Monitor alarms and tripping or fault occurrences closely, coordinating promptly with front-line maintenance staff.

Respond to tripping or emergencies by facilitating remote isolation of faults and safe power restoration under SMRT LEW instruction or supervision and with the Chief Controller's consent, within stipulated KPIs.

Carry out Emergency Mode remote switching of the Tunnel Ventilation System according to Work Instructions during fire and evacuation situations.

Perform system function tests, OCC exercises, and project testing and commissioning.

Assist in periodic reviews of Work Instructions and operation procedures.

Take part in Kaizen projects for constructive and improvement work.

Handle any other ancillary or additional tasks as assigned.

Good to know

You will work on a shift roster system in line with MOM guidelines and the Collective Agreement.
The role is based in Singapore.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Electrical Power Engineering
Technician Electrical License (LEW Grade 8) is an added advantage
Preferably 2 or more years of electrical working experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Good electrical engineering knowledge, including single-line diagrams
Basic knowledge of SCADA
