Research Assistant/Associate, AI in Medicine

About the role

Support the daily operations of a university-level AI in Medicine research centre, including AV/IT systems, computing infrastructure, procurement, audits and documentation. Provide data science and AI/ML modelling support for healthcare projects, covering data preparation, feature engineering, statistical modelling, model development, validation and evaluation. Develop reproducible analytical workflows, scripts, notebooks, dashboards and prototypes. Prepare technical summaries, reports, grant applications and presentation materials, and coordinate with internal and external collaborators. Assist with research administration, compliance and centre support tasks.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (Research Assistant) or Master's degree (Research Associate) in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Health Informatics, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Applied Mathematics, AI, ML or related quantitative discipline
• Training or experience in data science, statistical analysis, machine learning, predictive modelling, NLP, deep learning, biomedical data analysis or clinical data analytics
• Ability to support healthcare AI studies involving data preparation, feature engineering, model development, validation, benchmarking, calibration, performance evaluation and interpretability analysis
• Competence in preparing, cleaning, organising and analysing structured or unstructured datasets
• Proficiency or strong working familiarity with Python, R, SQL, Git, Jupyter notebooks and machine learning tools
