Research Associate (Linguistics (Singapore Mandarin Usage Dictionary))

About the role

Support the Singapore Mandarin Usage Dictionary project by conducting literature reviews, linguistic analysis, corpus-based research and cross-varietal comparison. Provide linguistic input for annotation and computational modelling, and interpret corpus and model outputs to design, draft and refine dictionary entries. Coordinate annotation and quality assurance, maintain research documentation and guide student assistants. Contribute to project reports, publications and presentations while working independently and with the PI, Co-PIs and collaborators.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Linguistics, Chinese Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, Corpus Linguistics, Lexicography or a related field
• Strong training in Chinese linguistic analysis such as lexis, semantics, syntax, pragmatics, language variation, corpus linguistics or lexicography
• High proficiency in written and spoken Chinese and English
• Experience in corpus-based research, linguistic annotation, lexical analysis, dictionary compilation or related language research
• Ability to independently analyse linguistic data and produce clear research outputs
• Strong analytical, writing, organisational and quality assurance skills
