Scientific Officer

About the role

Support the planning and setting up of a molecular laboratory, including COVID-19 PCR testing and pipeline PCR tests. Develop SOPs and workflow protocols for molecular testing and ensure biosafety and quality compliance. Help procure lab equipment and consumables, and support recruitment, selection and training of molecular testing staff. Jointly lead MOH audits with the lab management team to obtain testing licences. Oversee inventory, audits and provide technical advisory on clinical laboratory methods.

Requirements

• Master of Science, Medical Technology or related Science
• Minimum 10 years working experience in a molecular laboratory
• Minimum 5 years supervisory experience
• Knowledge of molecular diagnostics methods, materials, equipment and techniques
• Knowledge of state and local standards, regulations and guidelines for clinical reference laboratories
• Analytical thinking and good communication skills
