About the role
This role leads AI governance for Prudential Assurance Corporation Singapore, working under a Group-led, LBU-driven Hub & Spoke model. You will report to the Head of Enterprise Data Governance and sit within the Local AI Governance Working Group, overseeing AI systems from registration through risk assessment, approval, monitoring and recertification. It suits someone with deep data governance, AI/ML or risk management experience who is comfortable making decisions and working through uncertainty.
What you'll do
Ensure the local AI working group follows the Group AI Governance Framework, ethics principles, standards and endorsed terms of reference
Set up, maintain and enforce local AI governance standard operating procedures to meet regulatory and Group requirements

Assess gaps against regulations, policies and standards, address them, and seek Group approval for any deviation
Support the local working group structure as chairperson, tracking action items and keeping accurate records
Oversee the AI Systems Register so information and documentation stay complete, accurate and current
Carry out initial reviews and risk assessments of AI systems, including generative AI models, against MAS guidelines and the Group framework, reporting risk ratings to Group and relevant Council
Guide stakeholders in preparing and submitting AI systems for review, impact assessment and approval
Ensure AI systems are used only for approved purposes as recorded in the register
Coordinate evaluation of AI model performance against set metrics so systems remain fit for use
Notify local and Group working groups promptly of non-conformities, incidents or complaints
Monitor implementation of controls and conditions set in approvals before production deployment
Work with stakeholders to address data, information security and privacy requirements across the AI system lifecycle
Establish and maintain local SOPs, guidelines and processes reflecting Group, local and regulatory standards
Contribute to refining AI governance standards and scan for emerging AI technologies
Collaborate with the Group AI, Cyber & AI team and other stakeholders to keep local governance aligned with regulatory expectations
Coordinate stakeholders on AI-related initiatives
Engage regularly with the Group working group and report on system status, risk indicators, regulatory updates, incidents, audits and improvements
Support responsible AI training and awareness for local teams
Participate in and update industry-level committees or forums representing the company

Requirements
7+ years of experience in data governance and privacy, AI/ML systems, or risk management
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Governance or a related field
Certified Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (AIGP) and/or Lead AI Risk Manager certification
Strong understanding of AI ethics, regulatory compliance and data privacy
Familiarity with AI governance tools such as OneTrust
Knowledge of NIST AI Risk Management Framework (AI RMF)
