Senior Associate / Associate (Tax Strategy Unit / Tax Policy Directorate)

About the role

You will drive studies to monitor the equity, sustainability and resilience of Singapore's tax system. You will analyse economic and social trends as well as changes in tax legislation or policies of other countries that may affect Singapore's tax strategy. You will take part in project teams conducting tax analytics studies to gain deeper insights into tax policies. You will also help develop Singapore's Medium-Term Tax Strategy, which sets out key strategic themes to guide tax policy formulation. Successful hires will be posted to MOF for 3 years before returning to IRAS.

Requirements

• Background in tax or policy work
• Degree in Economics/Business and/or an interdisciplinary field
• Keen interest in and passion for public policy work, especially tax policies
• Strong analytical ability with excellent writing, numerical and data analytics skills
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills to engage internal and external stakeholders
