About the role
Manulife Singapore is hiring a Senior Data Scientist to join its Singapore AI team. You will work with business leaders and technology teams to find high-value opportunities, shape AI product roadmaps, and lead AI initiatives from start to finish. This role suits someone with strong hands-on AI and GenAI experience who can also lead stakeholders and delivery teams.
What you'll do
Define domain-level AI strategy and product roadmaps with business leaders
Turn complex business problems into practical AI solutions, including user journeys, approaches, target experiences, and success metrics
Act as AI Product Owner and lead end-to-end delivery of AI initiatives with business and technology partners
Connect stakeholders, structure ambiguous problems, and improve AI delivery and operational effectiveness
Prototype, test, and refine AI solutions with business users based on feedback and outcomes
Manage the AI delivery squad for domain-wide AI products, including Data Scientists, AI Engineers, and AI Architects
Track solution adoption, performance, and value impact, and maintain a feedback loop with users
Lead design, development, and optimization of AI and GenAI solutions, including supervised and unsupervised models, statistical analysis, LLMs for complex documents, prompt engineering, RAG, evaluation frameworks, model orchestration, guardrails, and human-in-the-loop design
Evaluate emerging AI techniques, run experiments, and connect advanced AI methods to business problems
Work with AI Engineers, AI Architects, Data Engineers, and Technology teams to productionize AI solutions with scalability, monitoring, and lifecycle management
Establish modelling standards, governance, and reusable AI assets with Regional and Global AI teams
Mentor within the AI team on solution design, AI methodologies, and best practices

Requirements
6–8 years of experience in AI, Machine Learning, and Advanced Analytics, preferably in Consulting or Financial Services
Advanced degree in Statistics, Math, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field
Experience working at the intersection of business and technology, translating ambiguous business challenges into scalable AI solutions and measurable outcomes
Strong hands-on expertise in advanced AI and GenAI techniques, including agentic workflows and orchestration, AI service integration, and AI platform architectures
Advanced proficiency in a common coding language such as Python or Java
Experience with cloud and big data platforms such as Azure, Databricks, Spark, or Hadoop
