About the role

This senior role leads the Front Office team at a large integrated resort in Marina Bay, overseeing lobby and Front Desk operations. You will supervise Front Office Managers and step in for the Hotel Manager when needed, working with Group Operations and other hotel departments. It suits an experienced hospitality leader with a strong guest service background who can manage teams in a fast-paced international setting.

What you'll do

Oversee daily operations at the lobby and Front Desk counters
Stay familiar with Group Operations and Front Office sections such as Room Controller, VIP Services, Accounts, Night Audit and Training
Resolve guest comments, requests and issues promptly and professionally, following up with Service Management
Coordinate with other Hotel Operations departments to keep guest service touchpoints seamless
Work with departments to meet or exceed quality standards, company guidelines and legal requirements
Review workplace safety and health measures and liaise with Legal and stakeholders on changes
Ensure team members follow grooming guidelines
Supervise Front Office Managers and deputise for the Hotel Manager when assigned
Provide leadership, direction and supervision to Front Office and Group Operations team members
Foster teamwork, performance feedback, recognition and mutual respect
Develop and execute training with the department Training Manager to meet Forbes Travel Guide standards
Recommend appointments, promotions and development for team members
Conduct performance appraisals and take appropriate follow-up action
Motivate, coach and counsel team members to improve their skills
Prepare and present the monthly Hotel Performance Review
Help prepare the yearly budget, including upsell revenue, labour productivity and operating expenses
Support service enhancement initiatives and Net Promoter Score delivery and measurement
Contribute to strategic plan initiatives aligned with company vision and values
Ensure the Property Management System is used correctly and conduct audits for accurate data
Run departmental meetings and attend inter-departmental meetings
Handle other duties assigned by the Assistant Vice President, Hotel Operations and Hotel Manager

Requirements

Degree in Hotel Management or related field preferred
At least 4 years managing a Front Office department in a large upscale hotel
Strong leadership skills and ability to work in a complex international, multicultural environment
Excellent guest relations and problem-solving skills
Good spoken and written English; additional languages an advantage
Good planning and execution skills with attention to detail
