About the role
This is a regional leadership position with mtu Asia, part of Rolls-Royce Power Systems, based at the Tukang site in western Singapore. You will head up indirect procurement across APAC, covering categories such as freight, logistics, construction services, consumables, IT, professional services and MRO. It suits an experienced procurement professional who can work strategically and operationally in a complex, matrixed industrial setting.
What you'll do
Set and roll out APAC indirect procurement strategies that match global objectives and regional business needs
Lead and grow a procurement team handling freight, logistics, construction services, consumables, operational supplies and other indirect spend across APAC
Push cost savings, efficiency, supplier optimisation and long-term value through procurement initiatives
Put in place governance, KPIs, reporting frameworks and performance dashboards for procurement
Support procurement transformation and continuous improvement efforts
Manage indirect categories including freight and logistics, construction and facilities services, consumables and operational supplies, IT and digital services, professional services, MRO and engineering support, and corporate operational services
Run strategic sourcing activities such as RFQ/RFP, supplier evaluation, negotiation and contract award recommendations
Build sourcing and category strategies balancing cost, quality, compliance, service, sustainability and risk
Spot chances for supplier consolidation, process improvement and commercial gains
Develop and manage strategic supplier relationships across APAC and global networks
Lead complex commercial negotiations on pricing, service levels, contractual terms and long-term agreements
Negotiate, finalise and manage supplier contracts for optimal commercial conditions and service quality
Track supplier performance using governance frameworks, scorecards and reviews
Hold suppliers accountable to KPIs on quality, delivery, responsiveness, compliance and cost competitiveness
Handle escalations and resolve procurement or supplier-related operational issues
Watch market trends, supplier developments and commercial risks to adjust procurement strategies
Provide procurement insights and recommendations for business planning and operational needs
Work closely with global procurement teams on group-wide sourcing initiatives and programmes
Support sustainability and responsible sourcing aligned with corporate objectives
Partner with regional and global stakeholders in Operations, Engineering, Finance, Legal, HR, IT and Facilities
Act as key procurement advisor to internal business functions across APAC
Ensure procurement is involved in budgeting, demand planning, project execution and operational initiatives
Work with business units to understand operational requirements and deliver procurement solutions
