About the role
You will join a team building and running full-stack software that supports digital transformation in airport operations. The work spans early problem discovery and prototyping through to production deployment, support and ongoing improvement. It suits an engineer who can work with autonomy, handle ambiguity, weigh technical trade-offs and explain ideas clearly to technical and non-technical colleagues.
What you'll do
Partner with product managers, business users and technical stakeholders to understand needs, pain points and operational limits
Turn problem statements into technical plans, delivery milestones and working software
Lead technical design for full-stack applications, covering frontend architecture, backend APIs, data models, integrations, authentication, authorisation and deployment
Make pragmatic architectural decisions balancing delivery speed, maintainability, scalability, reliability and security
Build prototypes to test viability, validate user desirability and reduce delivery risk
Write clean, maintainable, production-quality code, mainly in TypeScript
Own systems end-to-end across design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting and support
Design for production reliability, including failure handling, observability, operational readiness and supportability
Identify, investigate and resolve application, interface, integration and infrastructure issues
Conduct code reviews and give technical guidance on code quality, maintainability, performance and security
Mentor engineers and support teammates to raise engineering standards
Communicate technical concepts, limitations, risks and trade-offs to engineers, product managers, business users and senior stakeholders
Proactively spot technical improvements, reusable patterns and process enhancements that lift delivery quality and team productivity

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline, with at least 5 years of relevant software engineering experience; other qualifications considered with strong demonstrated technical competency
Hands-on proficiency in TypeScript for production-quality application code
Experience building full-stack web applications with Next.js
Ability to build responsive, maintainable interfaces with Tailwind CSS
Experience designing, querying and maintaining MongoDB document data models
Strong working knowledge of Git, branching, pull requests and collaborative workflows
