About the role

You will join the Government Digital Products team at GovTech, working on FileSG, a secure national platform for issuing and distributing official documents to residents. What you'll do

Own the end-to-end design and delivery of complex features that span multiple services and integrations.
Assess technical trade-offs, write clear design documents, and push for solutions that balance speed with scalability and long-term maintainability.
Spot systemic bottlenecks and technical debt, and lead refactoring work to keep the codebase healthy and modular.

Review code and technical designs, giving constructive feedback that lifts the team's overall ability.

Improve automated testing approaches, including unit, integration, end-to-end and performance testing, and help build reusable test frameworks.

Drive continuous delivery through modern CI/CD pipelines, containerisation and infrastructure-as-code.

Find and promote ways to embed GenAI into daily workflows, such as automating documentation and speeding up code reviews, while carefully checking code correctness.

Treat uptime, data integrity, security and low-latency performance as core design constraints for every feature.

Build monitoring, alerting and observability dashboards so issues are caught before users are affected.

Act as a technical anchor during production incidents, triaging and debugging cross-component issues, and lead blameless postmortems.

Work closely with Product Managers, Designers and Tech Leads to shape technical roadmaps and solve complex user problems.

Turn high-level product goals into actionable engineering plans with well-defined, prioritised tasks.

Coach and mentor mid-level and junior engineers through technical reviews that grow their architectural judgement and domain knowledge.
