About the role
A semiconductor fabrication facility in Singapore is looking for a shift engineering lead to guide a shift team supporting NAND technology development, RDA and metrology. The role sits between first-shift process development teams and high-volume manufacturing operations, and suits an experienced wafer fab engineer who can lead people and solve process and equipment problems under time pressure.
What you'll do
Complete required safety training and follow safety and regulatory policies
Identify and resolve safety and quality issues together with collaborators
Help reduce injuries, hazards and environmental incidents
Act as first line of defence on shift-critical issues such as lot holds, dispositions, excursions, line-downs and tool downs, working with TD first-shift process development teams on early node development part types, test vehicles and short loop travellers
Act as second line of defence on shift-critical issues, working with HVM operations and TD first-shift process development teams on shared part types
Partner with TD first shift, HVM operations and cross-functional teams to set priorities, resolve issues and meet goals
Maintain robust reaction plans and timely updates for shift teams
Develop and deliver plans to resolve on-shift process and tool issues, improve output and reduce quality risks
Work with process development engineering, equipment development engineering and suppliers to keep process and tool performance, availability and area improvements on track
Lead the shift team on process development support such as RAM cycle time goals, redundancy fanout, wafer shipments, SWR execution and data collection, and critical lot health checks
Guide team members on complex tasks and issues and deliver to engineering development intent
Use data-driven analysis for yield and quality problem solving and on-duty decisions
Provide technical expertise on complex process and equipment issues, driving root cause resolution or containment
Ensure capacity, product mix and improvement plans are in place to meet business needs
Support business processes and keep chronic tool and process issues under control, including SPC, alarms and inventory
Drive continuous improvement in shift team performance
Align area goals with leadership and set clear line-of-sight objectives
Manage projects to scope, schedule and deliverables, tracking actions and escalating as needed
Lead team execution, prioritisation and effective meetings with clear follow-up actions
Provide performance management, coaching, training and development planning for direct reports
Manage workload and well-being of direct reports and help them clear obstacles
Ensure accountability, clear expectations and timely task completion across the team
Communicate priorities, deliverables and expectations with first-shift manufacturing development engineering, process development engineering and engineering management

Requirements
Master's or bachelor's degree in engineering or a related science field
At least 5 years of wafer fabrication industry experience
Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills
Knowledge of SPC and process control
Knowledge of yield and defect mechanisms and process flow interactions
Proficient with process control and automation systems and tools such as SPC, recipe management, manufacturing execution systems and deviation requests
