About the role
Micron's Singapore Back End Manufacturing is hiring a Test Equipment Engineer to join the MSB Test Engineering department. You will support overall Test Operations, including developing monitoring frameworks, driving improvement projects in tester utilisation, and supporting new tester setup and qualification. This role suits an ambitious engineer who enjoys data analytics, automation and AI-enabled tools, and who can coach and train other team members.
What you'll do
Improve test equipment availability through equipment FMEA, potential problem analysis, design improvement and continuous improvement projects.
Strategise spare inventory management to balance cost efficiency with sustained availability and minimal downtime.
Track key equipment performance indices and produce reports and dashboards for management reviews.

Perform engineering evaluations to drive equipment efficiency, utilisation and capability improvement.
Automate test equipment data gathering and assess equipment to reduce equipment-induced yield losses.
Use data analytics and AI-enabled solutions to spot equipment degradation trends and improve maintenance effectiveness.
Work closely with manufacturing staff and lead a team of shift technicians to meet output and quality goals.
Set up and qualify new tester setups, collaborating with logistics and facilities.
Solve and prioritise issues with different teams to drive root cause identification and resolution.
Coordinate new product runs, support production deployment of applications and perform validation testing.
Analyse equipment failures and implement workarounds and fixes in a timely manner.
Manage test equipment hardware, software, process changes and documentation.
Leverage AI-enabled knowledge tools and data-driven insights to accelerate troubleshooting and problem solving.
Work on projects to improve overall test equipment efficiency and effectiveness.
Develop software and automation solutions to monitor the test production floor and enhance productivity.
Review test plans regularly and explore test-time cuts for mature products.
Apply data analytics and AI technologies to optimise equipment performance, productivity and operational efficiency.
Prepare training and certification materials on failure analysis.
Conduct training courses and certification.
Document one-point lessons.
Provide documented performance management for direct reports with formal and informal feedback.
Coach team members on effective use of automation, data analytics and AI tools to enhance engineering capability.
Integrate AI-assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency, quality or effectiveness, exercising sound judgment and complying with organisational standards and legal requirements.
Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, testing and sharing AI-enabled enhancements within your scope of work.

Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical & Electronics, Computer, Data Engineering or a related engineering discipline, with relevant experience
Hands-on experience with equipment, manufacturing processes and operational problem-solving
Experience in equipment reliability, downtime reduction and continuous improvement initiatives
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for equipment, process and operational challenges
Ability to use data-driven insights to develop sustainable improvement solutions
Strong collaboration and communication skills with cross-functional teams
