About the role

This role sits within a regional engineering squad at a long-established Singapore bank, focused on building and running a secure, scalable loan origination platform that supports digital lending. You will work alongside business, credit risk and compliance colleagues in a regulated banking setting, and the position suits an experienced engineer who enjoys combining hands-on Java work with technical leadership and automation. The team is friendly and supportive, and the bank invests heavily in learning and development.

What you'll do

Drive end-to-end delivery of loan origination solutions, covering compliance screening, credit assessment, workflow orchestration and document management, within a squad of about 12 engineers.
Provide hands-on technical leadership using Java and API-driven architectures, and push automation and testing practices across the squad.

Keep systems reliable using observability and monitoring tools such as Kibana, and apply strong quality engineering practices.

Drive CI/CD practices with tools such as Jenkins and GitLab so deployments are secure, controlled and include testing and security checks.

Manage data integrity through SQL development and database validation.

Use AI technologies to improve development efficiency, automation and intelligent lending capabilities.

Work closely with business, operations and regulatory stakeholders, keeping documentation, communication and audit traceability in good shape.

Requirements

5–8 years of software engineering experience, ideally in banking or financial services
Proven delivery of loan origination systems or digital lending platforms
Strong Java development skills
Solid experience in the loan origination and lending domain
Proven team leadership with end-to-end delivery ownership
Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab or similar
