About the role

You will join the Ocean Global Stowage Planning team, designing safe and efficient stowage plans that keep vessels sailing smoothly. This role suits analytical problem-solvers who enjoy a fast-paced, international setting and want to grow within global shipping operations.

What you'll do

Design the position of containers on vessels and produce seaworthy layouts, ensuring dangerous goods are segregated safely, bays allow maximum crane work, weight is evenly distributed, and stability and safety criteria are met.

Maintain high stowage planning standards to ensure safe, maximum vessel utilisation at minimum operational cost.

Follow the entire stowage process with stakeholders at any time of day, wherever the ships are.

Evaluate and determine vessel suitability for the service based on trade requirements and vessel characteristics.

Review and update SOPs regularly to ensure optimal performance for the team and stakeholders.

Work closely with internal and external stakeholders such as terminals, regional operations, ship commands, nautical, network, and deployment teams.

Identify potential operational issues, highlight them, and follow up with actions to prevent or mitigate contingency impacts.

Good to know

This role generally follows non-standard working hours, with a rotational night shift about once every six weeks when required.
Comprehensive training is provided, and successful candidates must complete Basic Theory and Basic Stowage Proficiency Assessments.
The role is open to candidates currently based in Singapore and authorised to work in Singapore.

Requirements

Around 3 years of experience in stowage planning, terminal planning, container shipping operations, seafaring, or naval architecture/engineering
Fresh graduates and diploma holders from Maritime Studies or any STEM discipline are welcome
Self-driven and responsible
Thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments
Strong time management, adaptability, and agility
Excellent communication and teamwork skills for coordinating with diverse stakeholders across cultures
