About the role
You will operate condition monitoring systems used to inspect railway tracks, tunnels, viaducts and buildings, acquiring and retrieving data for processing. The role sits within a rail infrastructure team that combines traditional visual inspection with technologies such as photo imaging, laser and ultrasonic scanning, plus smart environmental, pump and lift control systems. It suits someone with a vocational engineering background who is comfortable following work instructions and working as part of a team.
What you'll do
- Operate condition monitoring systems and retrieve acquired data for processing
- Develop a basic understanding of how to interpret acquired data and identify alert thresholds
- Carry out work in line with Work Instructions and SMRT safety policies
- Take on related duties and responsibilities as assigned from time to time

Requirements
- Vocational qualification in Mechanical, Mechatronic or Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Able to communicate effectively
- A good team player
