About the role

This role supports SMRT's rail network by keeping track components such as rails, switches and crossings in safe working order. You will join the Track Renewal team, carrying out system-wide repair, maintenance and replacement work so that train services run safely and reliably. It suits someone with an engineering background who is comfortable with hands-on field work and shift-based maintenance duties.

What you'll do

Operate an engineering consist, including locomotives, safely and efficiently
Follow work instructions and procedures when carrying out tasks
Observe safety procedures at all times

Take responsibility for your own safety, that of colleagues and the track during the working period

Act as person-in-charge (PIC) and handle preventive maintenance (PM) duties

Complete the required paperwork for each task

Finish rail change or built-up welding work within the given time frame

Perform thermit welding

Plan the weekly Track Renewal schedule

Good to know

Based in Singapore

Requirements

Nitec in Mechatronics, Mechanical or Civil Engineering
Preferably 1–2 years of experience in field maintenance
Able to communicate effectively
A good team player
Proficient in using tools and equipment
