Technician

About the role

You will assist with troubleshooting, diagnostics, housekeeping and repairs on commercial buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, grounds and maintenance equipment. Duties include servicing pumps, valves, pneumatic controls and electrical, mechanical and hydraulic devices, as well as installing and modifying building equipment and systems. You will also repair building finishes such as ceiling tiles, door hardware and wallpaper, and handle painting of walls, piping, floors and equipment. The role requires responding to emergency situations and customer service requests, inspecting buildings and equipment for unsafe conditions, and maintaining fire and life safety systems. You must comply with all applicable codes and regulations and follow safety training and uniform dress code requirements.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• 2+ years of related experience in a commercial property setting
• Technical, vocational or on-the-job training in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry or engine repair
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record
• Basic computing skills in Outlook, Excel & Word
• Ability to use smartphones, tablets, computers, web-based applications, building automation systems
