About the role

This role involves training and examining airline crew who are converting to Airbus aircraft, covering operational, technical and performance topics for specific types. The position is based in Singapore and involves working with international customers, representing Airbus to operators and authorities. It suits an experienced Airbus pilot who enjoys teaching in a multicultural setting and wants to grow into wider training, management or project work.

What you'll do

Instruct and check airline crew converting to Airbus on operational and technical aspects for a specific type, using flight training devices, fixed base simulators, full flight simulators, aircraft and lecture rooms, so they can safely perform normal and emergency procedures required by airworthiness authorities.
Deliver theoretical training for type-rating courses, flight operations courses and aircraft performance.

Follow Airbus standard policy and standardisation requirements from Flight Development and Flight Standardization & Policy.

Instruct and/or check crews within defined time limits.

Evaluate crew progression.

Decide whether extra training is needed to reach the required proficiency and competence stated in training objectives.

Conduct base training for airline crew on applicable Airbus aircraft.

Conduct line training, including Initial Operating Experiences, for airline crew on applicable Airbus aircraft.

Conduct aircraft type rating skills tests, licence proficiency checks or operator proficiency checks on applicable Airbus aircraft types.

Participate in reviewing or developing training programmes as assigned by the Head of Training.

Conduct assessments of instructors.

Carry out standardisation duties if appointed as an Airbus Standardizer.

Maintain a high level of airmanship to teach in a multicultural environment.

Assist with flight training audits and Flight Simulator Training Device fly-outs and qualifications.

Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Training.

Good to know

The contract is based in Singapore and commuting is not possible.
The role is full time and permanent.
You may work with different teams across the world and can develop expertise in various fields and roles, including management or project positions.

Requirements

Hold an EASA ATPL licence
Hold an EASA Medical Class 1 certificate
Hold a valid EASA type rating on the relevant Airbus aircraft type
Hold a valid unrestricted EASA instructor certificate on the relevant Airbus aircraft type, including LIFUS or landing training
Hold or have held a Low Visibility Operations qualification, with at least one auto land as Captain on an Airbus fly-by-wire aircraft
Hold or have held an ETOPS approval qualification
